Cracking Exhibition, Gromit! 50 Years of Aardman in Bristol
Published on
This summer, Aardman Animations celebrates its 50th anniversary with a must-see family exhibition in Bristol. Running from 20 June to 13 September 2026, Cracking Exhibition, Gromit! at M Shed offers visitors a rare chance to step behind the scenes of world-famous stop-motion animation.
Fans can discover how beloved characters like Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph are brought to life, with rarely seen models, original sets and creative insights on display. The exhibition highlights Aardman’s journey from a small Bristol studio to a global animation leader, making it one of the top UK cultural events and family days out in summer 2026.
Alongside the main exhibition, visitors can also explore a free trail at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, where hidden Aardman installations and surprises are scattered throughout the museum. This adds even more fun for families looking for things to do in Bristol and unique UK exhibitions in 2026.
Whether you’re planning a weekend break or searching for the best family-friendly events in the UK, Cracking Exhibition, Gromit! promises a joyful and nostalgic celebration of 50 years of creativity, storytelling and iconic British animation.
