Space Week: Immersed in Starlight
Published on
When: 10 October 2026
Where: Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Bristol
Tickets: £15–£21
Bristol's night sky takes over the museum as its grand interiors become a canvas for distant nebulae, star clusters and galaxies in a spectacular Space Week event.
As part of Bristol's Space Week celebrations, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery transforms after dark for Immersed in Starlight, projecting real images of the cosmos across its grand Edwardian interior. The photographs on display were captured from the heart of Bristol itself by Lee Pullen, known online as the Urban Astrophotographer.
Art meets astronomy
Pullen's images – built up from months of patient long-exposure photography – reveal nebulae, star clusters and galaxies normally hidden by the city's light pollution. A specially composed soundscape by Sam Whitfield of Cyan Music accompanies the visuals, and the evening opens with an introduction from Pullen himself explaining the craft of shooting the night sky from an urban back garden.
Tickets and timings
Standard tickets are £15, with child and concession tickets at £12.50. Given demand for previous dates, early booking is recommended for this atmospheric, family-friendly evening under the museum's roof.
